China Glaze Ruby Pump

Hey, how have your December been? It's certainly hard to believe that only half a month to go before the end of 2012. December has not been entirely good for me. My room in my rented apartment was flooded since Thursday morning and all my stuff including my bed on the floor were all soaked with water that could come from the toilet of the above unit. Contacted the landlord and he will get someone over to fix. But at the mean time, I have to camp at my friend's room. That made me super bad mood and frustrated on Thursday and I seriously needed something to cheer me up.

Painting my nails is definitely a way to calm myself down. As I searched my stash, I found this classic China Glaze Ruby Pump which I had purchased about a year ago and had not put on yet. It's a loud, happy, fiery, sexy and hot red jelly based packed with red shimmer. Red is my favorite color and my mood has instantly changed since the first stroke of this color.

This color really does scream CHRISTMAS to me. Think I might consider wearing this for the coming Christmas since I would have no way to get Zoya Blaze with reasonable price before Christmas.

China Glaze Ruby Pump
It looks like my finger tips are on fire and I really love how it flatters my skin tone.

China Glaze Ruby Pump
The shimmer is absolutely stunning under the sunlight, I really love how it radiate when the light strike on it.

It's still beautiful even in the shade.

This is an Macro shot that is not so successful, in my opinion, but I love how the crazy shimmers shining through.

What do you think of this color? I absolutely love this color and will definitely wear it more often in the future. I wonder why I have been keeping this color in the stash box without even trying it.

China Glaze Prism Swatch & Review

It's Friday! How have everyone been? Seems like I have taken a way too long break since my last post. My apology of being such a indiscipline person.

Today I am going to show you a quick post on China Glaze Prism from the Prismatic collection. It is a purple based packed with blue, yellow, silver and pink holographic round glitter. I think I see some green too.

These are 3 coats with no top coat.

Here is a close up shot on how the color looks like

It is a very happy color that reminds me of confetti.

From the bottle, you could see how much glitter are packed in the bottle.

This formula is a bit sheer and I think it might be perfect for layering. Of course removing this color has to be super patient by using the foil method.

What do you think about this color?

China Glaze Grape Pop Swatch & Review

For those who had been reading my blog would know that I accidentally 'burnt' my fingers while preparing dinner about 3 weeks ago. I'm not going to tell you the whole story again, you can find how could all that happen here if you are curious. *wink* Because of the incident, the skin around my finger tips are peeling off as you can see in the first photo. My bf says that my fingers now look like the experienced guitarist's. *laugh*

Hmm.. Are you looking at the lovely color on my finger nails instead of noticing the dry skin around my finger? That's what I am going to show you next...... *Drum Roll*  The China Glaze Grape Pop from Up & Away collections! It had been a while since I had last painted my nails with China Glaze color as I was overwhelmed by the new collections by other brands. I don't really like the recent China Glaze Spring collections and therefore I have been focusing on OPI and Zoya lately. But I do look forward to the Hunger Games and Prismatic collections though *grin* Okay, enough of all the old story.. I know you are anxious to see the color.

China Glaze Grape Pop
Grape Pop is a blue based purple creme which is very similar to OPI Funky Dunkey (did I get spell it correctly?). I am not sure how similar both are as I don't own the OPI FD, but there are some comparisons photos on web where you could look for. I wanted to get FD but ended up getting this as I wasn't able to find FD. I got this color from my last trip to US on last Jan but had totally forgotten about it for the last 2 months.

China Glaze Grape Pop - Natural light
Grape Pop is definitely gorgeous and I like how it makes my skin look fairer. The above two photos give a better idea on how the actual color looks like. I wasn't putting much hope before I put on this color but I did end up liking it so much.

China Glaze Grape Pop - Camera Flash
The formula is great but on the thick side which is the usual standard of China Glaze polish. You wouldn't have any major application issue and the color leveled itself out so easily. I definitely will use this color again in the future. What do you think?

China Glaze First Mate and NYC Starry Silver Glitter

I was super busy after I had started this blog. It was all about Christmas, business trip and Chinese New Year in the past 2 months. I had no time to share although I was painting my nail regularly, and that made this post the first nail polish post after so long.

Most of the blues doesn't work well with my warm skin tone. Therefore I was trying to avoid adding blue into my stash. I told myself last Oct that I should be more experimenting to find the perfect blue for myself. I then got myself 3 bottles of different blues (China Glaze First Mate, Blue Year's Eve & Skyscraper). Today I am going to show you China Glaze First Mate. I got this color by accident, I was originally ordered another color from the same collection but the seller accidentally sent the wrong color. I thought this color was very pretty indeed so I decided to keep the color.

I have gotten this bottle for 2 months now but have no courage to try it on since I have a phobia on blue polish on me. I finally took up the courage and put it on me. At first I was worried, but once it was on, I was "Wow"... This is such a beauty!

Decided to add a little spice, I had overlaid it with NYC Starry Silver Glitter which I purchased in Target while I was The States last Sep. The result is really satisfying and I keep staring on my nails since I have it on.

Here is how the little beauty is, sorry that I have forgotten to take a photo of my nails before the glitter is applied.
With Sunlight:

In the shade:

This is 2 layers of China Glaze First Mate with 2 coats of NYC Starry Silver Glitter. I also applied Seche Vite in between First Mate and the glitter to ensure smooth applications. I used Poshe Base Coat and Poshe Top Coat for the final touch.
